CoolGreenPower Working With US Department of Defense
CoolGreenPower is excited to announce that it is working with the United States Department of Defense on the installation of COOLNOMIX devices at two military locations, one in a hot-dry climate and the other in a hot- humid climate. The Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems CSE in Boston is the prime contractor that will perform all of the energy efficiency testing over three seasons. The two very different locations will show efficiency performance across the spectrum of conditions.
In January, the DoD announced the selections for the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) that will be rigorously evaluated as prospective energy efficiency technologies for consideration in military facilities. CoolGreenPower’s COOLNOMIX entry was selected as one of the top ten projects. More than 800 projects were submitted. With this vote of confidence, we are thrilled to be moving forward with the Department of Defense and are eager to show the US just how much energy can be saved with COOLNOMIX. The project is expected to have a payback of less than 2 years and will be completed in 2017.
We would like to thank Fraunhofer for their instrumental support in this process and the Department of Defense for selecting COOLNOMIX as a potentially viable way to reduce its cooling costs and carbon footprint. With this plan and subsequent US case studies, CoolGreenPower has gained momentum in its mission of reduce cooling costs and emissions across the United States.
